Let’s face it. A good, simple salad dressing can turn a good salad into a fantastic salad. You know us dietician’s want you to eat your greens. I grew up on store bought salad dressing, perhaps the reason why I disliked eating them as a…
Pizza is a family favorite in our house. We have a great pizza place in our neighbourhood which we regularly visit. My must haves are thin crust, fresh ingredients, and minimal toppings. This past weekend I decided to make my own after seeing these mouth watering flatbreads from foodiecrush. To be honest, I don’t have a lot of patience when it comes making dough which is why I would prefer take out to homemade. But this recipe from the kitchn totally caught my eye. Quick and no rising involved. Now that’s what I call a winner.
Our summer has been so warm that there was no way I was going to heat up the oven, instead we used the bbq. My husband thought I was crazy when I suggested we grill the pizza. I found step by step instructions on the kitchen. Thanks to the high heat, you’ll make some of the best pizza. Plus your house stays cool and you can still get a good night sleep. That is if you don’t have the kiddies calling out in the middle of night, I can dream.
We made two pizza’s that night and used this tomato sauce as the base but arugula pesto would also make a great base paired with your favorite toppings. I would highly suggest having your topping ready on a plate beside the bbq, trust me this is a fast process. Do not do what I did and put the tomato sauce on the dough before grilling on the bbq. Soggy dough and bbq don’t like each other, and neither will your partner that has to clean up the mess. LOL

Miss E and I planted our first garden this year. We planted arugula, beets, lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, strawberries, and herbs. Arugula is one of my favorite greens. I love it in salads, pizza, pasta, and love making arugula pesto. The combination of pepper and lemon…
