Heart Shaped Sugar Cookies

Heart Shaped Sugar Cookies

We made these heart shaped chocolate cookies last weekend for a Valentine’s Day. I am a sucker for all holiday themes.  With the current COVID restrictions we have been spending a lot of time in the kitchen. I thought of these heart shaped cookies that Miss E and I made a few years ago and decided they need a little tweaking.  The cookies turned out perfect and decorating was so easy and fun.  The girls wanted to decorate some of the cookies with pink and red sprinkles, what little girl doesn’t like sprinkles. These heart shaped cookies are easy to make, adorable, and a great way to spend some time with the kiddies.

I don’t bake a lot of sweets because I  don’t have the will power when it comes to sweets. But a little indulgence here and there aligns with my nutrition philosophy. I rarely buy cookies, I prefer to make my own from scratch and feel more comfortable knowing the  ingredients in our food . My daughters  love to roll up their sleeves and help in the kitchen. I feel teaching your kids confidence in the kitchen is a valuable skill that is often overlooked. Plus, I find it’s a great place to spend some quality time with each other.  I hope my daughter’s grow up with fond kitchen memories.

To decorate these cookies we dipped some in dark chocolate and sprinkled them with valentine’s  candies. If you prefer you can keep things simple and add sprinkles before you bake them.

Happy Valentines Day!
